3rd Marking Pd. Project Assignment


AP GOVERNMENT EXAM CREATION PROJECT


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:   Students will create an AP Government Exam using the guidelines and rubrics set forth by the College Board.

Project Components and Guidelines:

I.    60 Multiple Choice Questions:  All questions must have five answers to choose from.  THREE questions must be in Roman Numeral Format. 

            A.   Constitutional Underpinnings & Federalism:  6 Questions
            B.   Political Beliefs and Behaviors:  9 Questions
            C.   Political Parties, Interest Groups & Media:  9 Questions
            D.  Institutions (Congress, President, Courts, Bureaucracy):  24 Questions
            E.  Public Policy:  6 Questions
            F.  Civil Rights and Liberties:  6 Questions

B.    Multiple Choice Answer Key:  Please list the answers in four columns of fifteen. 

C.    4 Free Response Questions:  All questions must mirror the format used on the FRQ sections from years 2006-Present.   Questions must contain subsections broken up by letter.  Each question must address a different unit of the curriculum.  At least one question must reference a chart or graph.  For examples of properly formatted FRQ’s, please visit:  www.collegeboard.com

D.   Free Response Rubrics:   All rubrics must mirror the format used on the FRQ rubrics from years 2006-Present.   Rubrics must include a list of accepted answers for each section and give graders explicit directions as to how to grade a wide array written responses.   For examples of properly formatted Rubrics, please visit:  www.collegeboard.com

DUE DATE:   The AP Government Board Game Project is due in class by Friday, April 13th.

LATE PROJECTS:  Late projects will be accepted with severe deductions.    Projects delivered on Saturday, April 14th will be penalized 20%.    Projects delivered on Sunday, April 15th will be penalized at 40%.  No projects will be accepted after Sunday, April 15th. 

PLAGIARISM:  Student work is checked routinely for plagiarism.  Students are NOT to use questions or answers from previously released AP exams or published study guides.   If a student plagiarizes any part of the project, the project will be penalized at 50%.   Students guilty of plagiarism will also receive a citizenship grade of 3 on their report card.

PROJECT ASSISTANCE:  Students who need assistance with their Exam Creation project may make appointments with Mr. Pedone.  Time is available during 7th and 8th period, as well as after school.

PROJECT GRADES:   Projects will be returned with grades by  Wednesday, April 18th.   This project will account for 15% of the third semester grade.

Bind entire project together.

Print Rubrics or Answer Keys on same pages as MC or FRQ.

Attempt to do this project at the last minute.

Have grammar, spelling or technical mistakes.

Use pre existing questions.
